While I have been intrigued by Arianna Rose and her journey in these to books. Both liking and disliking other characters and events that happen.
** Spoiler.
The events that really Stand out for me was Anianna be forced to watch the murders of her mother and her ex.
I mention this because when I bought these books from my kindle the series was listed as a young adult paranormal romance. The manner of these murders which I won't describe because, as a reader I am okay with some spoilers, not a fan of giving away whole segments of book or story. I will say this to me it would be more like to a horror novel which is why I believe it had the wrong listing when I purchased it.
Those who like horror may like this series , those who don't but, like paranormal romance will not care for the mistaken classification of this book. For that reason I am giving it 3 stars as its not a book that I would recommend for paranormal romance in fact I would recommend a few avoid it actually. While recommending it to Horror Novel Readers.

I am seriously depressed these books seem short, but they are very well written and the story line is freaking awesome! Should def be a movie! As I read this I can totally see this on the big screen. Now I have to get the third to find out what happens next, But I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves paranormal books!
I really enjoy this series so far, I can't wait to get on to the rest of the books. Arianna's character is interesting, vulnerable and strong, the supporting characters are engaging and relevant. Looking forward to book 3 to see where being the Sola leads her. There are lessons to be learned here, most important to me being religious tolerance and accepting people for who they are, without judgment and prejudices, regardless of where they're from, their background, what they look like our their beliefs.
I found myself getting wrapped up in the series. Overall, I think the series is appealing to the paranormal readers. Arianna has to grow up a little too fast and I thought that more action scenes throughout the series would have helped the reader understand Arianna's growing powers. In other words, she used powers that the reader didn't know she had to solve problems. It also never became clear where the powers came from or how Arianna became chosen to be the Sola. Also, the people who died seemed to be too disposable and their lives were never remembered or credited with the effect that they had on the characters--even though the characters were willing to fight to the death to save humanity.
I thought I was going to have a hard time meeting my own expectations after the reading another series I finished. (It would be rude to mention it on this review.) However, that being said, this series absolutely kept my interest and I found that I was needing to keep my DX going, even while driving! This is an amazing series!!!!
I ran across part 1 in the free kindle paranormal romance area and I could not stop reading it. I saw there was a part 2 so I bough it and I could not put it down. I love books that I can submerge myself into and FEEL what the characters feel and process through. I am officially a fan of this author duo and I do not often throw myself into the fan category. I can almost guarantee you will be as anxious for book 3 as I am!!!
The first book was ok, but I wanted to see if my feelings for the characters would change in in the second, the STORY is great in both, but I find because Arianne's 17 and 18 years old hard to relate to. The teen age and immature emotions were a bit much, I WANTED to like her but I honestly found her more annoying as the story went on. With Desmond a 100 year old warlock with an 18 year old girl I don't find as endearing as it was meant to be, if she was in her mid 20's then yes I would find it more relatable.
This is a unique storyline with compelling plot and characters.
I'd like to see a little more complexity in the plot though. I suppose
that the author's target audience is a deciding factor on how much
to engage the main character .
The only point that held me back from a full 5 stars was that Arianna
is endowed with so many supernatural 'gifts' and yet in the crunch
they don't come into play the way the reader would expect they
should.
Also, ie. when she had to face the villain in the first book and you
were led to believe that Desmond would be there for her but wasn't.
She coped with the crisis but you were left wondering throughout it,
where was the help she was promised??
Overall though, I liked the premise, and the characters.
